You should never use antiseeze on brake parts because it coagulates with heat and causes problems.

$200 for pads and rotors is pretty cheap

i do my own automotive repairs, i have even fixed my own brakes and hubs for just the cost of the amazon parts. yes, i think $200 is too much given my experience on how easy they are most of the time.. every once in a while you get a stuck bolt that don't want to let go, but that rarely happens.

For the front brakes, do you need the brake maintenance mode on?

Did mine this past weekend. Yes, the springs were a pain! Especially if you have all new hardware included with your pads. I had to put the pads on prior to installing back on the rotor. Pins were almost seized.

There are nonprofessionals in the comment section that are giving potentially dangerous advice. For instance, forcing brake fluid back to the reservoir, can catastrophically damage the ABS unit. That is why you are taking a risk if you’re not a professional and only relying on a UA-cam video.

I recently how to do a 600.00 brake job myself which included 4 rotors, 4 calibers, 4sets of pads and some grease and die grinding😂... it was definitely worth saving a thousand bucks just for labor having the stealership do it

Depends on the car. Some are a pain. Some are easy. My dealership charges 3 hours, per axel. I can have an axle done in an hour and a half. I work for a Western Star dealership. Just depends on the vehicle.

Don’t like the price? Buy you about $1k in tools (just to start out because that’s not even half of what you’re going to need) Buy you a manual and start wrenching. When you’re finished you can then pick up the phone and call the guy in the video or myself to fix your fuq ups. Mechanically inclined people don’t go to shops to begin with UNLESS they are humble enough to know when something is beyond their expertise.

Use quality parts. Nothing from Auto Zone or Advance. O'Reillys Only. Import Direct pads and rotors for all import vehicles. SPC pads and rotors for american vehicles.

I wrote myself a $400 check by doing it myself.

I'm in SC and was just quoted $500 for the rear brakes and rotors by 2 service stations. One is national (Firestone) and one is local.

Absolutely not. Brakes are so easy. The issue is most people don’t have all the equipment/tooling or don’t realize how easy the job is.

Is that just for pads? Does it include new rotors? Did my own break job on my Caravan It was $500 just for parts. New rotors and pads all around.

That’s just a hack vs less of a hack when doing a brake job you need to make sure you take the most care and effort and make sure it’s absolutely correct if you want to hack a paint job or stereo install go ahead someone will do it right don’t let someone get injured because your a half assed mechanic

Do you need to keep the pad plates from the old pads? Some videos showing that you need to keep the back plate from the OEM pads when you install new.
